Quadriennale Düsseldorf 2014 creates diverse opportunities for engaging with the future — and for realising how stimulating it can be to think about the world of tomorrow and how much has been accomplished throughout cultural history for the sake of a better future.

Each art venue taking part in Quadriennale düsseldorf 2014 will present a different facet of the main theme “Beyond Tomorrow” while at the same time evoking substantive connections to the other institutions.

A total of eleven concepts are artfully interwoven, linking the art spaces and museums of Quadriennale düsseldorf 2014. Some exhibitions will focus on a vision of the future that prompted experimentation, a reawakening or transformation, while others will present works by artists who saw the future as a place of retreat or were fascinated by its darker and more troublesome aspects.
